In a game that was postponed weeks ago due to extra innings and darkness, the Flensburg Falcons defeated the Aitkin Steam 5-4 in 17 innings.  The game resumed in Flensburg in the top of the 17th and the game tied at 2-2.  Sam Nagel got the Win, throwing the final 5 innings of the game (but just 1 inning in the continuation of the game.)  In the first segment of the game in June, Aitkin had scored a run in the 6th and another in the 8th.  Flensburg's runs came in the 7th and 9th innings.

When play resumed on Sunday, Aitkin got a lead-off double and then an rbi single by Brian Burman to make it 3-2.  Aitkin added another run in the top of the 17th on a heads up running play when Sam Peterson, the runner at 3rd, perfectly timed the throw back to the pitcher from the catcher and slide in with a steal of home to make it 4-2 before the Falcons got out of the inning.

The Falcons came right back and scored 3 in the bottom of the 17th with an rbi single by Dylan Lukasavitz to make it 4-3.  After a strikeout for the 2nd out, Wes Waytashek swung and missed at strike 3 but reached 1st when the ball got away from the catcher to keep the game alive.  Brent Carry then singled to center to drive in the tying and winning runs!  The loss for the Steam means they are the #4 seed in the North and will play at #1 seed Nisswa next Saturday in the first round of the Playoffs.  Flensburg's victory kept their season alive, moving them into a tie with Swanville for the 4th Playoff spot in the West and the Falcons and their fans quickly packed up and made the short drive to Swanville to play the Swans in the West Play-In game.
