The Lastrup Lakers defeated the Fort Ripley Rebels 3-2 in 14 innings on Saturday on a walk-off, 2-out rbi single by Nate Janson to score Jason Sadlovsky with the winning run.  Lastrup scored in the bottom of the 2nd off Rebels starter Ethan Branum on a Scott Janson sacrifice fly to make it 1-0.  The Rebels tied it in the top of the 3rd on a Brian Skluzacek solo Homer to right field with 1 out.  Fort Ripley then took the lead in the top of the 4th when Rhett Williamson cracked a lead-off double, was wild-pitched to 3rd and scored on a Jason Sather rbi single with 2 outs to make it 2-1.And it stayed that way until the bottom of the 8th as the starting pitchers took charge.  Paul Herman led off with an infield hit in the bottom of the 8th for Lastrup.  Brad Meyer bunted Herman to 2nd , followed by a Pete Herman single to put runners at the corners. Reggie Litke then laid down a squeeze bunt single to bring in Paul Herman with the tying run.  Neither team was able to score in the 9th so the game was headed to extra innings.  Chad Weiss allowed a 2-out single to Nick Jelacie in the 10th but stranded him there.  Luke Weber took over from Ethan Branum after 9 outstanding innings by the lefty .  He retired Lastrup 1-2-3 in the bottom of the 10th.  Zach Heidmann singled with 1 out in the top of the 11th for the Rebels, then went to 2nd on an errant pick off attempt.  Jason Sather then scalded a ball back to the mound where Chad Weiss caught the waist-high line drive for an out, then  a fly to center ended the inning. In the bottom of the 11th, Weber issued a 1-out walk to Jason Sadlovsky but then got Dan Saehr to hit into a 6-4-3 double play to send the game to the 12th still tied at 2-2.  Reggie Litke took over from Chad Weiss to begin the 12th after a 154 pitch afternoon for Weiss.  Litke set the Rebels down in order.  Weber matched that with a quick 1-2-3 inning in the bottom of the 12th.  In the top of the 13th, Litke got a ground out to 3rd and then 2 strikeouts to retire the Rebels.  In the bottom of the 13th, after a ground out to 1st by Paul Herman, Brad Meyer hit a catchable fly ball to left-center the fell in between two Rebels outfielders but Meyer was thrown out at 2nd on the play and then Weber got a strikeout and we moved to the 14th.   Once again, Reggie Litke finished off the Rebels in order, making it 9 straight retired out of the bullpen for the veteran reliever.  In the bottom of the 14th, Luke Weber got Litke to ground out to shortstop.  With Jason Sadlovsky at the plate, the Rebels employed a shift, moving shortstop Rhett Williamson to the right of 2nd base.  Sadlovsky sent a ground ball to the left of 2nd and beat out the throw for an infield hit.  A wild pitch then sent Sadlovsky to 2nd.  Weber got Dan Saehr to fly out to left, with Scott Janson then taking a walk to men at 1st and 2nd with 2 outs.  #9 hitter Nate Janson then ended the game with a line drive single to deep left to Sadlovsky with the winning run and a 3-2 Lastrup win.  The extra-inning victory for the Lakers was the 3rd extra-inning, walk-off win for Lastrup over Fort Ripley in their rivalry.  The Lakers beat the Rebels 1-0 in 10 innings in 2010 and then won in walk-off fashion 3-2 in 10 innings in 2013.
