The Nisswa Lightning avenged an early season loss (6-4 on May 12th) to the Aitkin Stem with a resounding 23-2 win in 7 innings on Sunday.  Nisswa wasted little time getting started, sending 15 men to the plate in the top of the 1st, scoring 9 runs.  Tory Miller led off with a double, quickly followed by another 2-bagger from Drew Bland and Nisswa was up 1-0 just 2 batters into the game.  Chris Pederson had an rbi single, Morgan Shepherd was hit by a pitch with the bases load to force in another run.  Adam Hardy singled home 2 runs, and after a Ty Swenson hit, Nick Cundy lined a 2-run single.  After a walk to Tory Miller, Drew Boland drove in his 2nd run of the 1st with a single.  A fielders choice off the bat of Aaron Jenkins drove in the Lightning's 9th run of the opening frame before Aitkin was able to get off the field.  Nisswa added 2 more in the 2nd on another rbi single from Drew Boland and a Jason Roepke rbi double made it 11-0.  Nisswa added 2 runs in the 3rd when Chris Pederson reached on an error, Ty Swenson singled and with 2 outs, Nick Cundy double to bring in both men to make it 13-0.  Aitkin got their 2 runs in the bottom of the 3rd when Mike Basile and Jesse Henline had infield hits and were doubled home by Quin Miller and it was 13-2 after 3 innings.  After the 4th inning went by without a run for either team, Nisswa went back to work in the 5th, scoring 1 run on a wild pitch to make it 14-2.  The lead stretch further in the top of the 6th when Aaron Jenkins led off with a double, and then scored on an Aitkin error to make it 15-2.  After a walk to Adam Hardy, a hit by Ty Swenson added another run to make it 16-2 and the Lightning scored once more in the inning on a fielders choice and it was 17-2.  In the top of the 7th, Nisswa had another huge inning, plating 6 runs.  Jason Roepke led off with a single, moved to 2nd on a wild pitch and scored on a single by Chris Pederson.  Morgan Shepherd then singled to put 2 men on base.  Up stepped Adam Hardy, who clubbed a 3-run Homer to push the lead to 21-2.  Ty Swenson was driven home on a hit by Tory Miller to make it 22-2. Drew Boland, who had driven in the 1st run of the game with a double, drove in the final run of the game as well with another double, giving him 4 hits and 4 rbi and the Lightning had exacted their revenge to the tune of 23-2.  4 Nisswa players had 3 hits games (Jason Roepke, Chris Pederson, Ty Swenson and Nick Cundy) while both Tory Miller and Drew Bland had 4 hits a piece.  Each man also had a pair of doubles.  Scott Sand was the benefactor of the offensive explosion from his teammates and got the Win.
